Happy 12th Birthday, My Jilliann Skyler

Dear Jilliann,

To express to you in depth the love and respect I have for you without getting misty eye — well, this is going to be tough.  Writing your 12th birthday blog post is much different than writing your 11th.  You have blossomed.  Boy, have you blossomed.

Your heart is beautiful!  You are so full of courage and independence.  Your passions and dreams are never ending and will always remain so important to me.  I admire that you pave your own path and walk to the beat of your own drum.  At twelve years old, you truly are a free spirit.  Be proud of that!

I wish for you to always have bravery and steadfastness to walk your journey with a positive mind-set and to always be bold with who are and whom you are becoming.  You are such an amazing and unique soul with so much to offer.    Never be afraid to spread your wings.

Thank you!  Thank you for teaching me.  Because of you, I’m a better person and mom.  And thank you — for being you!   Stay true to who you are and you will always find success, no matter how it is measured.

Happy Birthday, my beautiful Jilliann Skyler!  I love you, my little cheesecake!

WINE = HUSTLE + GETTING WORK DONE :: Jacksonville, Florida Portrait Photographer

It’s 10:30pm and I’m just walking through door from working all day.  I popped the cork and poured myself a bottle glass of wine.  My girls were nestled in the same bed together watching — Supernatural.

I leaned up against the kitchen counter reflecting how my day went, the 101 things I need to get done in the next seven days and wondering if I’ll have enough time to do so.

To-do lists and productivity is my middle name.  But, somewhere I lost the pen for my to-do lists and productivity was lack there of.  I need to find balance again and hustle.  Because let’s be honest : wine = hustle and hustling gets work done.

Dear Arianna,

In the last year I’ve often caught myself thinking, “where is my little girl?”  You’re growing so fast and it sets in as such a deep appreciation to cherish every tiny little moment with you.   There’s nothing more precious than you’re beautiful smile, that infectious laugh and your ambition to learn everything you set your eyes and ears on.   Your kindness is bigger than life and I truly couldn’t be more proud of the little young lady you are becoming.   You truly see the best in everything.  You wear your heart on your sleeve and believe the good in all.

Never stop dreaming, my love.  Never stop smiling.  And never stop spreading your amazing love. It’s clear you have so much to offer in this world and I couldn’t be happier to walk along side you as take on this beautiful journey in life.  Stay confident and never doubt yourself.

To find clarity, I write my dreams, goals and aspirations down almost daily. They become a personal road map of the direction I want to go in hopes that I’ll transform them into a reality one day.

Ah, yes!  New beginnings — because well, that’s what a new year brings, right?  It brings on new dreams and endless possibilities.  You see, I’m a dreamer.  Some people are doers, but, I am however a dreamer who dreams of doing.

I’m hopeful that in 2017, I will make things happens.  Those dreams that I dream about will come true because I’ve promised to hustle more this year.  One of my favorite sayings is “All good things come to those who hustle”.

So here’s to new beginnings, dreaming and hustling in 2017.
